This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

Account means an optional Google account that You may link to the Application for the sole purpose of enabling Google Calendar sync. The Application does not create or maintain user accounts with the Company.

Application refers to iWasThere: Attendance Logger, the software program provided by the Company.
Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Privacy Policy) refers to the operator or developer of the Application, iWasThere: Attendance Logger.

Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cell phone or a digital tablet.
Personal Data (or "Personal Information") is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
We use "Personal Data" and "Personal Information" interchangeably unless a law uses a specific term.
Service refers to the Application.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. Usage Data refers to data collected automatically when using the Service (for example, device or app identifiers). We do not operate servers that log visits or page views.
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
We do not require Your name, email address, or phone number to use the Application. If You enable Google Calendar sync, You will sign in with Your Google account; Google account data is processed by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If You contact Us (for example by email), We will use the contact details You provide only to respond to Your request.
The Application is a mobile app. We do not operate servers that log Your visits or collect "pages" or time-on-page data. When You use optional features, third-party services may receive data automatically:

Location data is stored only on Your Device. We do not upload raw location or GPS data to our servers (we do not operate such servers). If You enable Google Calendar sync, only place names and dates (derived from presence at Your places) are sent to Google to create calendar events.
You can enable or disable location access at any time in Your Device settings.
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the Service: to deliver attendance logging (recording Your presence at saved places), optional Google Calendar sync when You enable it, and force-update checks so You can use a supported version of the Application.
To manage Your requests: to respond to support or other requests You send to Us (e.g. by email).
For business transfers: if applicable, We may use or transfer Your Personal Data in connection with a merger, sale of assets, or similar proceeding, in which case We will provide notice before Your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
For other lawful purposes: such as to comply with legal obligations, protect rights or safety, or evaluate and improve the Service where relevant.
We do not use Your data for marketing, promotional campaigns, or to offer You third-party products or services. The Application does not have public areas where Your data is shared with other users.
We may share Your Personal Data in the following situations:
Data on Your Device: Your places, presence records, and app settings are stored only on Your Device. We do not retain them on our servers. You can delete this data at any time by clearing the Application's data or uninstalling the Application.
Data processed by Service Providers: Retention of data that Google or Firebase process (e.g. when You use Calendar sync or when the app fetches Remote Config) is governed by their respective policies and, where applicable, our instructions. We do not operate servers that store Your usage logs or account data.
Where We hold any Personal Data (for example if You contact Us by email), We will retain it only as long as necessary for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. We may retain data longer where required by law (e.g. for legal claims or regulatory requirements). You may ask Us about retention by contacting Us.
Your information may be processed at the Company's operating offices and wherever the parties involved in processing are located, including outside Your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ.
When You use Google Calendar sync or Firebase (e.g. Remote Config), data may be transferred to and processed by Google or Firebase, including in the United States or other countries. Where required by law, We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers. Google and Firebase provide information about their data processing and safeguards in their respective privacy policies.
The Company will take reasonable steps to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
You have the right to delete or request assistance in deleting Personal Data that We hold about You.
Data on Your Device: You can delete all Application data (places, presence, settings) by clearing the Application's data in Your Device settings or by uninstalling the Application. The Application does not use a Company account that You sign in to; there is no separate account settings section for "our" service.
Google account / Calendar sync: If You have linked a Google account for Calendar sync, You can revoke the Application's access in Your Google account permissions and disable Calendar sync in the Application settings. Data already in Your Google Calendar is subject to Google's policies and deletion options.
Data We hold: We do not operate servers that store Your places or presence data. If You have contacted Us (e.g. by email) and want to request access, correction, or deletion of what We hold, contact Us at the email below. We may need to retain certain information where we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 16. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 16 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information.
If We need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing Your information and Your country requires consent from a parent, We may require Your parent's consent before We collect and use that information.
The Application may contain links to third-party sites or services (for example, the Google Play Store for updates). If You follow such a link, You will be subject to that third party's site and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of third party sites or services. We advise You to review the privacy policy of any site or service You visit.
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
We will let You know via email and/or a prominent notice on Our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
